Nosek, Jan ; Kozel, Tomáš (referee) ; Lázničková, Ilona (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis documents the creation of training materials for high voltage switchgear. Most of the work is devoted to introduction of products of ABB company, which the training materials are developed for. The main emphasis was on introduction of the UniGear ZS1 switchgear, which the main product of ABB's high voltage switchgear domain is. The last chapter is devoted to the analysis of the different levels of training materials.
Design of technical measures in LV distribution network with a high value of short-circuit currents
Šmehlík, Daniel ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses the sizing and the possibility of reducing large short circuit ratios. For a specific scheme of an industrial building, which will be fed from three transformers, the sizing will be done by means of the SICHR program. The specific objective of the technical solution is to be able to use modular circuit breakers with a ripping capability of short-circuit currents up to 10 kA in the terminal switchboards. Another objective of the work is to perform an economic evaluation of the proposed solution, or to optimize the design from the point of view of the economic aspect in meeting the technical requirements.

Domes, František ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
Checking of busbar system against effects of short circuit currents and currents of regular operation is important because of safety and also economic reasons. This Bachelor’s thesis deals with calculation of heating of belt conductor during the operation. There are also calculated mutual power effects between belt conductors and checking of busbar system on heat and power effects of short circuit current during the operation. Practical part includes the design of belt line of cell substation. Calculation was made by software Microsoft Excel.

Mokrý, Lukáš ; ABB, Drahomír Tůma, (referee) ; Dohnal, Petr (advisor)
The aim of my work is to describe high-voltage switchgear type UniGear 500R, which is part of UniGear switchgears family. I will focus on heating issue of one 500R unit and its parts during operation. Maximum values of this heating is limited by standards and can´t be exceed to ensure safe and reliable operation. That is why the heating tests are necessary part of designing and developing switchgears. Calculation will be made by two different ways. First is classic one-pole heating net method and second is numerical simulation in Solidworks flow simulation program. Except the theoretical description there will be presented also used 3D model and explanation of both method, used to calculation and simulation. Last point of this work is measuring of this type of switchgear and getting real data. The main point there is to compare measured values with values calculated and decide if is possible to simulate tests with appropriate accuracy. Then would be also possible to substitute the real test in laboratory, which costs many thousand crowns and takes lots hours of time. This work is collaborated with EJF division of ABB Company, where I am employed. Heating issues in this company is always on process, because of developing and improving of their products. So this work could be helpful in this field. ABB provides all materials needed, especially technical catalogues, 3D model and final values from laboratory measuring. Support from college faculty is mainly in study consultations and proposing of calculations making. In the end of work will be make final comparison and evaluation of achieved results.
Simulation of electric field in the area of switchgear busbars
Müller, Michal ; Janda, Marcel (referee) ; Bušov, Bohuslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is to simulate the electric field in the space of busbar HV switchgear. More precisely, the aim is to find a place with the most critical value of the electric field, the design of measures to reduce the size of the field at this point. The simulation was performed using the finite element method program. The simulation found the most critical area. Using the basic physical principles it has been proposed solution. This solution reduced twice the magnitude the electric field in this area.
Project of Logical Busbar Protection
Kulač, Ivan ; Paar, Martin (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The main objective of master‘s thesis was creation logical overcurrent busbar protection. The first part of document describes teaching test panels with ABB REF feeder protection´s terminals. These panels are installed in Laboratory of electrical protections at Department of electrical power engineering, Faculty of electrical engineering and communication, Brno University of technology. On these panels we can simulate the real involvement of the distribution station. Were subsequently describes used digital protection´s terminals REF 543. Then was designed configuration of these panels so to achieve logical busbar protection, which will be able to assess the short circuit fault and shut the smallest part of the busbar system. Within the configuration it was necessary to solve the cooperation of protection terminals. This was finally accomplished through connecting wires between each test panel. After the configuration it was necessary make the tests. We used secondary protection tester CMC 256plus. After the tests was analysis fault´s records and has been verified the accuracy of the proposed logical busbar protection.
Calculation of the profile busbar conductors in distribution equipment
Veselý, Tomáš ; Wasserbauer, Vojtěch (referee) ; Novotný, Jan (advisor)
Proportioning of busbar system for thermal and dynamic effects of short circuit current in terms of safety and economic efficiency is very important. Bachelor thesis is focused on inspection of these effects on busbars. Theoretical analysis deals with the calculation of characteristic values of short circuit current. The study also processed the principle dimensioning of the profile wires for busbars. The main part consists of designing the effects of short circuit current. In the practical part of the work was created calculation program in MS Excel, which deals with the design of the bus, resistant to the effects of short circuit current. The program also allows you to check the busbar-known dimension to the thermal and dynamic effects.
Calculation of temperature field of the busbar bridge
Měrka, Ivan ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This term project’s aim is to theoreticaly analyze thermal phenomena and losses in electrical power devices, describe the design and application of UniGear ZS1 type switchgear, put together a computer simulation model for thermal calculations of current and optimized solution and finally to discuss obtained results and compare them with experimentally acquired values. The main objective of this project is to determine, whether simulation is a viable and reliable enough method, that it could replace the costly real life physical testing. Modelling of the progress of thermal processes in different parts of the examined busbar will be done in computer aided design program Solidworks and its simulation plugin Flow Simulation.
Usage of Busbar as a Source of Heat
Svoboda, Ondřej ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
This study is dedicated to the use of heat energy from the busbar and its cooling system. The study deals with thermal analysis of the busbar, both using numerical simulations in SolidWorks and practical examination – warming of the busbar. We can verify the correctness of the simulation from the measured values. To determine the temperature profile of the busbar, it is necessary to measure the temperature at various points of the busbar by contact method using thermocouple or contactless method using a thermal imager. Measurements are performed at the busbar LIA1600 made by Siemens Busbar Trunking System Mohelnice. The aim of the study is to analyze temperature busbar, to suggest the most efficient method of heat recovery, and to make economic calculation
